Rare items have the potential to be significantly better than normal items or even some unique, especially once you’ve invested in crafting them. Here's how you can use currency to improve Rare Items:

Chaos Orbs: Use these to re-roll affixes on a rare item. If you have a decent base item but need better stats, a Chaos Orb will let you roll new modifiers. Focus on affixes that improve Minion Damage, Energy Shield, or Mana regeneration.

Exalted Orbs: These are used to add a new affix to a rare item. If you already have an item with great modifiers but want to add another, consider using an Exalted Orb.
