The developers of the enduringly popular soccer-with-cars game RL Items Rocket League are teaming up with sports media network ESPN for a big crossover collaboration with the X Games this year.
As part of the event, Psyonix is releasing X Games-themed Rocket League items and also kicking off a tournament series.
The X Games-themed gear will be available to buy in the Rocket League item shop from January 21-24 and then again from January 28-31. The new items include the X Games Octane decal, the X Games wheels, and Snowblind topper. These are all paid items, but Psyonix and ESPN are offering up two free items: the X-Skis banner and the X-Board banner.
For the most competitive of players, the new RLCS X Games: North American Regional event will be held as an online tournament January 23-24 and then the following weekend on January 30-31. This is both an official RLCS event and an X Games event, and you can watch all the action on Twitch and YouTube. Players who watch on Twitch can earn special rewards for Rocket League, including the Knuckle Huck banner and the X-Board and X-Skis Toppers.
You can see all of the special Rocket League X Games items in the gallery above. This campaign is happening in part to promote ESPN's X Games Aspen, which kicks off later this month in Colorado.
