In the Path of Exile 2 endgame, countless players are chasing that one build that can steamroll everything. You might have tried all sorts of meta setups but still felt something was missing. Today we are going to talk about the so‑called “Endgame Shredder” – the Bonestorm build. The beauty of this setup is that it is brutally simple yet incredibly effective. It changes the way you deal with high‑tier bosses and even lets you tank through certain mechanics. Of course, building such a powerhouse takes some prep work, especially when it comes to getting the key gear and crafting mats. Having enough PoE 2 Currency will make the whole process a lot smoother.
So, what exactly is Bonestorm?
In short, Bonestorm is a channelling area spell – but its damage scales off attack stats. When you channel it, your character becomes a swirling storm of bone shards, dealing physical damage to all enemies around you. The interesting part is how it scales. Your attack speed not only affects the animation, it directly increases the storm’s hit rate. In other words, stacking attack speed means stacking your DPS. On top of that, the skill benefits from flat physical damage, crit chance and crit multi. So the path forward is pretty clear.
The core concept of the build
This build’s strength lies in combining offence and defence. We go for an ascendancy that leans into physical damage and tankiness – exactly which one will depend on what PoE 2 launches with. The main ideas are:
1. Max out attack speed. This is priority number one. Passives, gear, jewels – if it gives attack speed, you want it. It is not just about damage; it makes the skill feel smoother and keeps you alive.
2. Physical damage conversion and penetration. We use certain mechanics to convert part of our physical damage into elemental, like cold or lightning, so we can take advantage of elemental penetration. Pure phys can struggle against high‑armour bosses in the endgame, as you probably know.
3. Layered defences. Raw damage is useless if you cannot stand your ground. We stack armour and block, along with mitigation like Fortify, so you can hold your channel without getting flattened. Many people think high‑DPS builds are glass cannons – this one will change your mind.
Picking the right gear
There is no single “best in slot” here – it is all about synergy. Start with a high‑phys, high‑attack‑speed one‑hander. For the off‑hand, a shield with block and some spell damage works nicely. The chest piece is key – ideally something with “% of physical damage taken as elemental damage” to massively boost survivability. Helm, gloves and boots are mostly for capping resists, stacking life and squeezing in more attack speed. Jewels are huge for pushing damage – look for Abyss jewels with flat phys, attack speed and crit multi; the gains are very noticeable.
Melting endgame bosses
The real magic of this build shows when you are up against bosses. Take the “Corrupted Son” for example – its laser sweep phase is a nightmare for many builds. With Bonestorm, as long as your defences are on point, you can just stand in the beam and keep channelling, watching the boss’s health plummet. Or “The Thousand‑Faced God” – it constantly summons adds and goes invulnerable. Bonestorm’s massive AoE wipes the adds instantly, letting you focus on the boss the moment it is targetable, cutting the fight time down a lot. You will quickly realise that many tricky mechanics just do not matter here – you can often finish the fight before they even happen.
All in all, the Bonestorm build offers a fresh way to enjoy the endgame. It is not the most complex or the most mechanically demanding setup, but it is one of the most satisfying and straightforward ways to smash through content in the current patch. It gives you that “plough through everything” feeling and turns bosses that used to be headaches into speed bumps. If you are tired of endless kiting and drawn‑out battles, give this one a go. Just be ready to invest some time and resources into it – especially on the trade market, where having enough path of exile 2 currency will get you the gear you need faster and kick‑start your own “endgame crushing” journey.
