Most notably, the only controller-related change included in the small OLED display version is a set of new console-side rails that are designed to hold their respective Joy-Cons in place even more securely. Another modification involves the interconnect cables of the console being taped to the top of a metal shield. While this is something that will make repairing the monochrome LCD display Switch on your own more difficult, iFixit transflective displaybelieves it may be able to assist with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity problems.
In terms of repairability, iFixit gave the monochrome LCD display model a seven-out-of-ten rating for repairability. That's one fewer than the number of awards the company gave to the original model. In addition, the OLED display module Switch has a non-modular storage module that is soldered to its motherboard, making easy repairs and upgrades on that transflective displayfront something you won't be able to accomplish.
