Global MapleStory Classic World has finished its two closed testing phases, so attention is now turning toward the permanent release. The tests gave players a useful preview of the game's classic foundation and newer conveniences, while also showing how progression will work across several areas. As launch gets closer, having a simple resource plan can be helpful, especially for players who want to manage MapleStory Classic World Mesos efficiently from the beginning.
The First Test Covered the Basics
The first Closed Online Test was held from April 14 to April 23, 2026. It focused mainly on the early portions of the game, including Maple Island and Victoria Island. The level cap during this phase was set at 50, giving testers a controlled way to explore the basic gameplay and progression systems.
This first phase was important because it established the core experience before more content was introduced. Players could get familiar with the classic environment while Nexon evaluated how the older-style gameplay worked within the modern version.
A Larger Second Test
The second Closed Online Test ran from August 4 through August 12, 2026. Rather than simply repeating the first test, it significantly expanded the available experience.
MacOS support was introduced, making the game available to players using compatible Apple computers. Full controller integration was another notable addition, giving players an alternative input method for exploring the world and handling their characters.
The playable content also grew considerably. Orbis and El Nath were added, giving testers access to new destinations and a broader section of the game. The 3rd Job Advancement became available as well, while the level cap was increased to 100.
More Progression Meant More Testing
Raising the level cap from 50 to 100 allowed the second test to examine progression much further than the first. Players could spend more time developing their characters and experience additional systems connected to later stages of the game.
The introduction of the 3rd Job Advancement was particularly useful for understanding the direction of character progression. Combined with the additional areas, it made the second test feel much closer to the scope players can expect from the permanent version.
These changes also showed that the project is combining a nostalgic gameplay structure with selected modern features rather than attempting to reproduce every aspect of the original experience without adjustment.
Test Characters Will Not Transfer
Players should keep one important detail in mind when preparing for launch: progression from both closed tests was completely wiped after the tests ended.
Characters, levels, and normal gameplay progress earned during either phase will not become part of the permanent version. As a result, players who participated in testing will still need to begin their main progression again when the official release arrives.
However, certain rewards earned through testing can remain available. Players who reached Level 10 or Level 15 and completed qualifying event quests, such as A Strange and Familiar Wood, could receive permanent Classic Beginner Label and Chat Rings.
Permanent Rewards Recognize Testers
The special Label and Chat Rings give eligible testers something lasting from their participation. Although their characters and progression were reset, these exclusive rewards can be used at launch.
This approach lets the testing phases remain meaningful without giving testers a large head start over everyone else. Players joining for the first time can still begin their permanent journey on a relatively even footing.
Mark the Two Release Dates
The next major date is Founder's Access on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. This provides an earlier opportunity for players who are eligible for that stage of the release.
The Grand Launch is scheduled for Wednesday, October 21, 2026. With both dates established, players have a clear timeline for preparing their characters, deciding how they want to progress, and organizing their early-game resources.
Plan Your Early Experience
The completed tests have already revealed several useful details about the upcoming release. Players know that the game will feature a classic-style foundation, while modern conveniences such as macOS support and full controller integration are part of the expanded experience.
New areas such as Orbis and El Nath, together with the 3rd Job Advancement and higher level cap, also give the permanent version more room for character development. Players who studied the testing information can use that knowledge to approach the launch with a clearer plan.
Prepare Before the World Opens
With closed testing finished, there is no need to worry about building a permanent character before launch. Instead, the remaining preparation can focus on understanding the available content, planning early progression, and deciding which resources will matter most during the opening stages.
For players who want a more convenient start, it can also be useful to review available options to buy MapleStory Classic World Items and organize their plans before the permanent adventure begins.
