Applications of Industrial Peristaltic Pumps in Wastewater Treatment

Applications of Industrial Peristaltic Pumps in Wastewater Treatment

In recent years, with the continuous advancement of industrialization and urbanization, social economy has developed rapidly, but the accompanying pollution problems have become an urgent issue to be addressed. Wastewater treatment has become an indispensable part of economic development and water resource protection.

Therefore, vigorously developing wastewater treatment technology and industrialization level is an important way to prevent water pollution and alleviate water shortage. Due to its unique characteristics, peristaltic pumps are widely used in wastewater treatment. Safe, accurate, and efficient chemical dosing and transfer are the goals of every wastewater treatment operation, which requires the design of pumps that can handle demanding applications.

Modern wastewater treatment technology is divided into primary, secondary, and tertiary treatment according to the degree of treatment. Primary treatment mainly removes suspended solids in wastewater, and physical methods are commonly used. Secondary treatment mainly removes colloidal and dissolved organic matter in wastewater. Generally, wastewater that has reached secondary treatment can meet the discharge standards, and activated sludge process and biofilm treatment process are commonly used. Tertiary treatment is to further remove certain special pollutants, such as phosphorus, nitrogen, and bio-refractory organic pollutants, inorganic pollutants, and pathogens.

Industrial peristaltic pumps have a strong self-priming ability and can be used to raise the water level of wastewater to be treated. Peristaltic pumps have low shear force, which will not destroy the effectiveness of flocculants when transferring shear-sensitive flocculants. When transferring fluids, the fluid only flows in the tube, and when transferring wastewater containing sand and mud, the pumped liquid does not contact the pump, only the pump tube will contact, so there will be no blockage. Industrial peristaltic pumps have high fluid transfer accuracy, which can ensure the accuracy of the added reagent, so that the water quality can be effectively treated without adding too many harmful chemicals. In addition, peristaltic pumps are also used for the transfer of samples and analytical reagents in various water quality testing instruments.

As municipal and industrial wastewater treatment becomes more specialized and complex, accurate dosing, chemical transfer, and product transfer operations are critical.

JIHPUMP peristaltic pumps, when transferring fluids, the fluid only flows in the tube and does not directly contact the pump body, and Langer peristaltic pumps have low shear force, so there will be no blockage when transferring fluids containing solid particles, and it will not affect the service life of the pump.
